Electricity of Guinea (EDG) chose to give its clients a smart electronic counter equipped with a security device as well as parameters, allowing users to choose between two different payment methods - to meet different type of consumption choices -: post-paid or prepaid payments. More than 30 000 of these counters, branded "Sabou", have already been positionned everywhere in Conakry and are now ready to be connected, especially in Kaloum, Ratoma, Dixinn and Matam. Sabou allows customers to follow, in real-time, their consumption, control their electricity budget and save money. It informs a client, for instance, when their remaining credit is low, so that they can adjust their consumption and not suffer from a power cut.
