Network Operations Centre

Free Internet connection to diverse public institutions

Project description

In 2017, the government of Somalia launched its Network Operation Centre (NOC) which provides the different public institutions (ministries, public agencies) with a free Internet connection. According to the Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Technologies, this infrastructure allows the ministry to play his role as the main technological services provider for governmental institutions. In total, 26 organisms of the federal government, in different parts of the capital of Mogadiscio, benefit from a secured and viable Internet connection thanks to the NOC. If the Internet service NOC offers does not cover all of the needs of the federal institutions in bandwith speed, the government works with its partners to expand the service to more public agencies, through the country. The technical infrastructure was realised thanks to the funding of the Global Bank.
