Mest

An incubator with Pan-African ambitions

Project description

MEST was developed in Accra, Ghana in 2008 by Jorn Lyseggen, CEO of Meltwater Group, a Swedish multinational specialised in online data analysis. It is both a computer school, an entrepreneurial academy and a startup incubator with the long-term goal of tackling youth unemployment in Ghana and contributing to the digital take-off of the continent through the promotion of technological innovation. The main mission of MEST is to teach young Ghanaians to code as quickly as possible to be able to create mobile applications from the first months and discover, on the way, the joys (and difficulties) of digital entrepreneurship. This, through advanced training in business, communications and software development, including extensive hands-on project work, which culminates in a final pitch and the chance to receive seed funding.
