4G Network Extension

Installation of a 4G+ network in Djibouti

Project description

As part of the Djibouti 20135 development plan that aims at making Djibouti a technological hub in Africa, the State of Djibouti has announced the deployment of the 4G+ network on the national territory during a speech realised in June, 2018, by the president Ismail Omar Guelleh. For this purpose, Djibouti Telecom, the national operator, has deployed several submarine fibre optic cables. Note that, right now, Djibouti owns the biggest amount of international connections is East Africa, being connected to eight wires, connecting the country to Europe, East Africa, the Middle-East, Eastern Mediterranean and South Asia.
