Sokowatch

Informal Retail Reinvented

Project description

Set up in 2013, Sokowatch is an e-commerce platform serving informal retail shops, who collectively sell over $175 billion of goods across urban Africa every year. Sokowatch allows shops to place orders at any time through SMS or mobile app, with free delivery of goods to their shop on average in less than two hours. Sokowatch partner with a variety of multinational consumer goods companies such as Unilever, Procter & Gamble, and local companies to increase access to their goods in low-income areas. Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, Sokowatch operates across Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda with plans to expand to major cities across East Africa throughout 2019 and 2020.
