Second stage of the fibre optic national backbone

Congolese backbone linking Kinshasa to Kasumbalesa

Project description

The second stage of the Congolese national backbone project, connecting Kinshasa and Kasumbalesa is completed. The infrastructure was built by the China International Telecommunication Construction Corporation (CITCC), in collaboration with the Congolese Posts and Telecommunications Society (SCPT) and funded by a partnership with China Eximbank. It goes throughout Kwango, Kwilu, Kasaï, Central Kasaï, Lomami, High-Lomami, Lualaba and High-Katanga provinces. A new stage of the backbone deployment is an underway project.
