A Fablab in the North of Togo

Project description

In the continuity of their mission to back up and help children and young Togolese people in the process of developping, especially via the acces to health and education, Marie Paule oré and her husband Claude Féré, who have founded in 2011 the association YovoTogo, have formed a partnership with the companies incubator JUMP Lab'Orione, the Emmabuntüs collective and Humanitarian Prosthetists and Orthotists (HP&O), to launche in 2018 a Fablab-OrthoLab in Dapaong (in the savannah region of North Togo) meant to produce prostheses for disables people thanks to 3D printers. The Fablab-OrthoLab hosting students from elementary school to unveristy, teachers, startups and whoever would be interested, was inaugurated in the 24th of March. The socio-economical actors of the savannah region benefit from a working space and a framework favorable for innovation, the projects developed feed a common data base usable by everyone. Thanks to remote digital machines as well as the supporting team consisting of technicians and designers, everyone can quickly transform an ida into a project and a project into a product.
