Erada

A saliva test to detect malaria

Project description

Erada is a startup that has designed a product to detect malaria faster and easier with a saliva test called SMAART (rapid test of asymmetric and asexual malaria based on saliva). The product will be launched in 2021. Unlike usual blood tests, the salivary test is easy to use and can be done by a teacher or parent in the community. Early detection of the disease will enable practitioners to treat it faster and prevent death. This is a critical issue as malaria kills 435,000 people a year, mostly in sub-Saharan Africa.
