Project description

Conceived and implemented by the African Media Institute together with the Open Institute, Code4Kenya is one of the first backed up initiatives in Africa whose Open data is relevant and usable by the citizens. Code4Kenya wants to hasten Kenyan citizens' knowledge and ability to understand and use the government's Open data. The purpose is thereby to promote civic engagement, citizens participation 2.0 and public policies transparency. Code4Kenya also wants to revolutionise the way journalists and activists use Open data, hence do they produce a huge effort on information, sensibilisation and education related to Big Data and its challenges for citizens.
