Bénin Taxi

Improving urban mobility in Cotonou.

Project description

As part of the "Benin Revealed" programm, under the Ministry of State in charge of Planning and Development, the Benin Taxi project was launched to improve the urban vehicle fleet in Cotonou. A fleet of 300 taxis is provided. These are modern, air-conditionned yellow taxis that are also equipped in tablets with a Wi-Fi connection. It is also possible to geo-track them. Their modus operandi consists of a mobile phone booking system and of a stationary fee structure (per zone). Forward, the project should be extended in all the municipalities of Benin.
