4G Square Kigali

A 4G space in Kigali

Project description

4G Square is a cybercafé network displaying free 4G LTE broadband, spread throughout the capital of Rwanda, Kigali. Initiated by the mobile operator KT Rwanda Network as part of a partnership with the Rwandan Ministry of Youth and ICTs to create innovation, creation and development spaces for all, the first ever 4G Square in Rubavu was inaugurated in July, 2015. KT Rwanda Network thereby facilitates the access to broadband Internet to stimulate innovation, creativity and entertainment as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy. In doing so, 4G Square Houses provide visitors with a customer care office, a cafeteria, a meeting room, a VIP lounge, a display of solutions, an interactive system as well as 4G LTE merchants and 4G smartphone sellers. Today, Kigali consists of two other 4G Square Houses besides the one of Ruvabu in Gisenyi, Rusizi and one 4G LTE centre in Rubavu where the Internet mobile operator also displays ICTs basic training programms for young people.
