In Sao Tomé, the Institute for Innovation and Research (INIC) was created by the national government in 2008 and affiliated to the Prime Minister’s office. The purpose of the INIC is to promote research in the ICT field, to put digital innovation in the service of the development of the country as well as promoting e-government practices within the administration of Sao Tomé. Funded by the Portuguese Speaking African Countries (PALOP), the INIC is involved in common initiatives between several Portuguese-speaking countries like the formation of new technologies program for the agents of the public administration.
