iCivil is a platform from Burkina Faso that aims at fostering birth registration and allow new borns to benefit from civil-status documents. It is currently being experimented in a ten-some health centres. With a mobile phone and a bracelet provided with a code, health workers automatically transfer the first data date, time, birthplace, name of the parents, etc. by text to the civil-status agent. These first informations are then completed by the parents and the child. This new system shall allow a better readability and traceability of births.
