Tunisia sets a national renawable energies development and smart grids plan up. This plan is worth 91 millions of dollars, invested in partnership with France to deploy communicating electric meters and make the Tunisian electric network smarter. The first stage of this plan projects the installation of 400 000 communicating electric meters in a test area (Sfax governorate, in the central part of the country). Hence, around 10% of Tunisian households connected to the national electric network will be equipped with modern devices.
