The field of foodstuff selling in Kenya and other African countries lacks of transparency for its actors: prices are not always clearly displayed, the products delivering can be a point of contention and there is not always a formalised market place. Facing this observation, the team of Twiga Foods wished for an alternative through new technologies. Farmers that are interested in Twiga Foods can manifest themselves on the platform and the team visits them and the two agents agree on the harvest to be provided at a set date. For the Farmer, the Twiga Foods system represents a payment guarantee. Twiga Foods resellers receive the information on their producers, receive the fruits and vegetables freely at their selling point and can order on the mobile application, which reprensents a gain of time. The organisation proposed by Twiga Foods allows for the traceability of the products, their quality and to increase the transparency between resellers and farmers.
